Concrete Sealing in Redstone & Marble, CO

Highway 133 up the Crystal River Valley gets real winter. Redstone sits at about 7,200 feet and Marble at about 8,000, so concrete sealing in Redstone, CO and Marble means planning for heavy snow, a long freeze-thaw season and lots of snowmelt. It also means stone: historic masonry in Redstone, and a town in Marble that's named for the stone itself. We truck in our own water, so watering restrictions never hold up a job.

Aspen Pressure Washing comes up the Crystal to seal driveways, walkways, patios and stone in both. The wash is part of the job.

Historic Redstone, stone-built Marble

  • Redstone. The whole village is a historic district on the National Register. Redstone Boulevard, the main street, runs along the east bank of the Crystal River past the Craftsman-era cottages that John Osgood built for his coal miners, plus the historic Redstone Inn. Old stone, mortar and concrete can sit side by side, so stone sealing in Redstone starts with a gentler hand.

  • Marble. The town is named for the Yule Marble quarry above it, the stone used in the Lincoln Memorial and the Tomb of the Unknowns. If your property has marble or other natural stone in its steps, walls or patio, that stone needs a different sealer than your concrete does.

  • Mountain access. Marble is a few miles off 133 on County Road 3, and plenty of driveways in both towns are narrow or steep.

How concrete sealing in Redstone & Marble works

  1. Walkthrough. We check the concrete and stone, note older mortar or fragile edges, and give you an honest picture before any work starts.

  2. Hot-water clean, matched to the surface, to clear grime, mineral staining and organic growth. We go gentler on older stone and mortar.

  3. Seal after a full dry-out, typically a day later. Slabs and driveways get J29 from Dayton Superior, which soaks in without darkening or leaving a film. Natural stone gets 511 Seal & Enhance from Miracle Sealants.

  4. Photos when we're done if you're not around.

Crystal River Valley questions

"Do you really come all the way up 133?"

Yes. Redstone and Marble are part of our regular service area, which runs from Glenwood Springs to Aspen and up the Crystal. We're based in Basalt, so it's a straight shot down 82 and up through Carbondale.

"We're on a well. Will you need our water?"

No. Our water comes with us on the truck, so your well and outdoor taps stay untouched.

"Can you seal actual marble?"

Yes. For marble we use 511 Seal & Enhance. It's made for marble, granite, slate, limestone and other natural stone, it soaks in instead of coating the top, and the manufacturer lists freeze-thaw resistance. It also deepens the stone's color permanently, so we'll agree on the finish with you before any of it gets sealed.

"Our place has old stone and mortar. Will washing hurt it?"

Not the way we approach it. We match the pressure and cleaning method to the surface, go easy on older masonry, and talk with you about anything fragile before we start.

"Our road is narrow. Can you get your equipment up here?"

Tell us about your road and driveway when you call. We'll plan where the truck goes and how to reach the work before we show up.

"The season's shorter up here. When should we book?"

Earlier than you think. The surface has to be completely dry when we seal, and we want no rain or overnight freeze in the forecast for a day or two after. Nights get cold sooner at this elevation, so call in spring or early summer. If the weather turns before we get to you, you're first in line for the next good window.
